The new president of the Commerce Alumni is Mr Paul Hill [BCom(Man) 2004].Paul was elected at the AGM in November and is excited about the networking opportunities that are available through the alumni chapter. In accepting the position of president, Paul paid tribute to the work of Alex Brown as a past president and for standing in as president during 2007. Paul will be continuing the Dinner Events that have been run by the Commerce Alumni in the past years. These small and convivial gatherings have been focused around a prominent guest from one of the professional areas or a CEO, allowing alumni to meet informally with very interesting people. If you are interested in attending a dinner in Adelaide, or organising such a dinner in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Europe or the USA please let the Alumni know by emailing commerce.alumni@adelaide.edu.au "2008 marks some important changes for the School of Commerce and the alumni are looking forward to being involved", was Paul's comment about the merger of the School of Comerce and the Adelaide Graduate School of Business (MBA). The two schools are being merged from 1st January 2008 to provide scope for new strategic directions and to help the process of AACSB accreditation. The AACSB accreditation is an important initiative which will ensure the international positioning of the business school as an Australian Go8 university.
